Kiln Peek at 2nd Grade Coil Pots

These are always beautiful! We do a diamond clear glaze on "clay lady clay" from MidSouth Ceramics then the kids pick out some glass beads (dollar tree!) to lay in the bottom of the coil pot. The kiln melts the glass and it looks like water. It's an awesome technique! Beware though, if the kiln doesn't get a complete "fire" the glass won't completely melt and it will result in little dangerous glass bubbles!

Here's the rest of the photogs of the coil pots/Mother's Day Gifts....

  1. Hi, I have tried this before and I got some with the dangerous bubbles and some without. Yikes! I am only able to fire to cone 04 to 06. Is this still possible to do with such a low temp fire? Thanks!
