Kindergarten Clay Necklaces

Unfortunately I didn’t seem to get pics of the kids creating the beads. We used the textures from the bottom of our shoes on the pendant. To create the beads we rolled “spheres” and stuck them on a wooden kabob stick.

We painted with cool colors using tempera.

Then we dipped our fingers in gold paint to rub a golden finish on top of our textures.

Did I mention we get real messy with this project?

I just lay out a plate of cool colors for the paint…and store them in gallon size ziploc baggies for the next class.

The next class, we string them on “Twizteez” wire necklaces and plan a design using plastic beads.

Below are some fabulous kindergarten models.
