Coffee Filter Leaves
Fall is here and this is my ease back into the week after fall break project. It works across all my grade levels....K-4!
I'm almost more enthralled with the by-product art on our papers for the drying rack than the actual coffee filter leaf! Using HP photo paper is really absorbing the bright colors!
below are kindergarteners....wow!

Rousseau Tigers
Totally stole this project idea from
Cassie Stephens and her amazing blog. This was a two-day project that turned out amazing! I looooove them.

Beginning the Year with Kindergarten
Kandinsky line paintings....this year we only used black oil pastels to draw our lines. I think I like this better.
Catch-up Day
So this class was wayyyy behind on getting to paint three things, therefore we had a triple painting day. Amazingly enough they were able to paint all three with cool colors and got them done in an hour. There's a first time for everything!

Cezanne Inspired Still-Life
We talked about still-life drawing and created a quick still-life in our idea books. Then we looked at a still-life with apples as a class to draw from.
We also talk about warm and cool colors and how to use them to show contrast in our paintings.
Teacher Portraits
Each 4th grader painted a portrait of either their classroom teacher or the principal. These are a big hit!
Kinder Self-portraits
We did these little "free draw" activities when we finished painting our Royal Self-Portraits.
