So I had considered using some of these artwork samples in my Gladis collection this year, but of course, I changed my mind after I had taken tons of pics. We wrote about still-life drawing in our idea books and did some before and after vase drawings...show me what you know...show me what you learned kinda thing. I also put 3 objects on each table and had the kids draw from a still-life.

Recycled Paper Garden Mural/ Mother's Day Cards
Fun Friday Project/Mother's Day Creations
I wanted a big art project to hang out in the hallway since it's that time to give the kids all their art. I hate when the hallways are empty..so I made this big "garden" with paper and showed the kids how to make big flowers. I did this lesson with K-3 and it turned out great!
I referenced my "Be smART" chart...2nd grade just finished making paper gardens...so we could get ideas from these samples.
Here's our scrap bin...it doesn't normally look like this...we had been 'digging' for colors.
Some kids chose to create a pop up Mother's Day Card before making a flower for the garden.
Our finished garden!
Pop-up Flower Gardens with 2nd Grade
Day One: Drawing and painting the background...landscape review!
Day Two- Read "Planting a Rainbow" and collage stems and leaves...start creating flowers.
Constantly reminding kids of the order of the rainbow...I don't think I've said Roy G. Biv so many times in my life.
